live foods

White worms are great for adult fish, frogs, salamanders, large tadpoles, turtles and lizards. It takes about 1-2 months for the cultures to reach maturity. White worms reproduce best at around 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. To harvest grab them with tweezers. When the culture is established, they start crawling on the sides. Made with dirt, water and a small quantity of food. Comes in a 5.5oz (about 1.48 L) container.

Red Wigglers- are great for smaller turtles, axolotls, stingrays, Oscar’s and lots of other smaller fish/reptiles. Depending on how many worms you start with the population can double every 60 days. These worms only gets about 3 to 4 inches long which makes them a great live food for almost anything that is to small to eat night crawlers. Make sure to store them at a temperature of 70-80 °F. If you plan on breeding them please put them in a larger container, feed vegs and fruit scraps every 2-5 days or until the food is all gone. To feed them to your animals just grab them! Comes in different quantities.

Alder Cones- these cones are a great place for biofilm to grow your bottom feeders will love to eat it like shrimp, corydoras and oto catfish. They also make a great hiding place for shrimp and fry, or you can also add them into your reptile’s enclosure as decorations or into your substrate to increase the effect in the substrate. The cones will release tannins into your water as well they will lower your pH level. The rule I follow with these cones is 2-3 cones per 5gallons. Hey my name Emily. Fins and Scales Hatchery is a small business that I created back in 2022, to make sure that you have all the live/dry products for all of your different pets.
