live foods

White worms are great for adult fish, frogs, salamanders, large tadpoles, turtles and lizards. It takes about 1-2 months for the cultures to reach maturity. White worms reproduce best at around 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. To harvest grab them with tweezers. When the culture is established, they start crawling on the sides. Made with dirt, water and a small quantity of food. Comes in a 5.5oz (about 1.48 L) container.

Micro Worms

Micro worms are great for betta fry, guppy fry, Corydoras fry, killifish fry, larval newts, small tadpoles and lots more! They reproduce quickly, and usually last 3-6 weeks (about 1 and a half months). Stir once a week and keep in a cool place. Micro worms climb up the container, to feed them off use a Q-tip and wipe them off the sides and feed. Made with oats, yeast and water. Comes in a 16oz (about 473.18 ml) container.

Hydei Fruit Flies

Hydei fruit flies are great for dart frogs, tree frogs, praying mantis, baby chameleons, many kinds of lizards and spiders. They reproduce slower, and last for 2-4 months depending on how often they are harvested. Keep fruit flies at a temperature of 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. To harvest tap the culture lightly right side up, then open and tip the cup and tap on the bottom into your enclosure. Then put the lid back on. Made with instant potato flakes, yeast, spirulina powder, cinnamon, water and vinegar. It comes in 32oz (about 946.35 ml) containers.

Vinegar Eels

Vinegar eels are great for newborn betta fish, killifish, rainbowfish and other fry. They reproduce quickly, and usually last 10+ months. Keep at room temperature, make sure to take off the lid and use a rubber band to hold a piece of paper towel over the opening. To harvest them get a piece of filter floss and put it into the neck of the bottle, so a little bit of the floss is in the vinegar. Add some dechlorinated tap water to the top of the floss, wait 4 to 24 hours. Then use a pipette to remove eels/ water, now feed your fry. Made with apple cider vinegar, apple and water. Comes in a 5oz (about 147.87 ml) bottle.

Melanogaster fruit flies

Melanogaster fruit files are great for small fish, birds, frogs and invertebrates. They reproduce quickly, and last for 1-2 months depending on how often they are harvested. Grindal Worms

Grindal worms are great for any type of small fry such as guppies, killifish, plecos and plenty of others as well as some reptiles. They reproduce quickly, make sure to feed every couple of days. The worms can live up to 30 days as long as you have them in a big enough container they will continue to breed. Make sure to store them at a temperature around 72-78 °F (22-25.5 °C). To harvest just pick up the piece of plastic and they are ready to feed. Made with soil, water and food. Come in 5.5 oz containers. $10 each

Hey my name Emily. Fins and Scales Hatchery is a small business that I created back in 2022, to make sure that you have all the live/dry products for all of your different pets. Right now I carry products for fish as well as reptiles. I am located in Hamilton, ON. As of right now i just have pick up, usually Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
